Lobster Gram has gone GREEN!
A Few Notes About Lobster Gram's Environmental Initiatives
Lobster Gram is undertaking the following measures to make the world a little better for Lobsters (and people, too):
- Lobster Gram is pleased to present our NEW Virtual E-Catalog, which offers customers a paper-free alternative to customers who prefer it. We've also produced PDF versions of our catalog and Cooking Manual. These efforts meet an important customer demand for marketing materials that save precious resources and help minimize production and distribution costs.
- Recycling whenever possible at all Lobster Gram offices: involves collection of paper, aluminum cans and other materials. Recycling containers are prominently featured in commons areas and Lobster Gram team members are encouraged by articles and signs posted to help them keep conservation in mind.
- Eliminating unnecessary use of electricity by monitoring office machine power use and placing them in low-power consumption mode during non-peak hours. And we turn out the lights when we leave a room.
- Improving our shipping containers and limiting materials to those that are either biodegradable OR reusable and recyclable.
- Integration of electronic conferencing and electronic documents to help reduce the amount of fossil fuels used in travel.
- Promoting distribution of documents via email as an alternative to printing them out in order to reduce paper waste and amount of fossil fuels used to manufacture inks.
- Developing relationships with environmental and conservation groups such as the Lobster Institute. Lobster Gram has donated thousands of dollars to these causes and is dedicated to helping make our friends aware of them so that they too may get involved in the effort!
- Producing catalogs in association with manufacturers who have solid reputations in their industry for improving forest conservation efforts.
About Our Styrofoam Containers
Please do not ship your containers back to Lobster Gram. Though they are perfectly fine for package recipients to reuse (and make terrific coolers for a summer picnic by the way), food safety regulations prohibit us from re-using them to ship packages.
For information on where you may recycle your Lobster Gram styrofoam container, please visit the AFPR website.
